Modular Unit Construction & Steel Partitions for Self Storage

Self storage manufacturers in Europe all sell you the same thing: steel walls and roll doors. The difference shows up three years later, when the walls have dents, the doors stick and the corridor looks like a warehouse. Here is what to check before you sign, from people who build these systems and run a five-hundred-unit facility with them.

One: the sheet. Ask for the material and the thickness in writing. Our partition panels are Aluzinc-coated steel, zero point five millimeters: zinc for corrosion, aluminium for hardness, no maintenance.

Two: the edges. A raw bottom edge cuts hands and goods during loading. Ours is rolled, so there is no sharp edge exposed.

Three: the doors. Reinforced should be standard, not an upgrade. Single or double, sized to the unit width, with a masking frame that covers the gap and the latch. Cleaner to look at, harder to force.

Four: the corridor panels. Glossy white steel reflects light, so the corridor is bright with fewer fixtures and looks like a place people trust with their belongings.

Five: the system. Walls should interlock and come apart. Demand changes; your unit mix has to change with it, without a new build.

Six: the proof. Ask the manufacturer where their own system is running. Ours is in Bolzano, Italy: Affittobox, five hundred units, built and operated by us.
